Mary Miles Minter

Mary M. Reilly was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, the second daughter of a demanding mother who had her on the New York stage by the age of six, appearing as "Little Juliet Shelby." The stage name would later be changed to Mary Miles Minter.

Mary would begin filmmaking with Powers in 1912. She moved to American from Metro in the summer of 1916 and would star in twentysix features over the next three years before finishing her career at Paramount. She turned her back on the movies after reaching her 21st birthday.
